Based in East London, they offer a supply only kitchen service throughout the United Kingdom. They supply to both the trade and retail markets and whether you require twenty kitchens or just one very special one we apply the same exacting methods.

The Brief.

The brief given to us was simple. Design a new brand showcasing quality with discounted prices and build an online store selling modular kitchens. The products they were planning to sell online are of the designer and luxurous range however their prices weren’t reflecting that. The prices seem to be lower than any high street kitchen store, including B&Q and Homebase!

Research & Insights.

We decided the brand needed to portray high quality product staying up-to date with the current market strand. The site needed to be simple to use avoiding all the unnecessary process customers are asked to take when placing orders as such.

The brand identity was planned to portray a modern image. After an extensive competitor analysis and taking the company’s ethics in to consideration we came up with the concept. The image itself can be used in isolation identifying the actual brand.

We were also asked to design a number of print materials along with design a van wrap which was then installed on to a number of large carrier vans.

WE initiated the development stage with UX & UI Analysis. Our primary goal throughout the UX phase was to design a customer experience that required a minimal level of thought from the user. Everything visible had to have a purpose and needed to be user experience oriented.

Further down the development we realised the 2 different pricing strategy they we introducing – Retail and Trade. So naturally the website had to reflect that. The site was armed with multiple tier pricing options – retail customer, small trader, large trader; so the customers with the relevant tier were shown relevant prices.

Our market study showed while designing a kitchen customers tend to compare products to find the most viable option. Which is why easy product comparison option showing all the relevant information was adopted.

Tier-based accounts enabled Crown Kitchens to target both the retail and the trade market. Following a simple online application their customers are assigned a relevant tier, which shows corresponding prices.

Multilingual and Multi-currency options to accommodate their overseas trade customers.
