Istanbul Travel is one of the largest Travel Agents in the UK for Mediterranean destinations. Branched with 3 offices in London and multiple across the globe, they truly are an international tour operator who have renowned themselves as one of the most desired agency to get in touch for any tour inquiries.

Being established for almost a decade, Istanbul Travel decided on re-positioning themselves in the market. For which AltSplash was tasked with re-branding the company’s image.

Which started off with carrying out market positioning analysis to determine what needs to be done to achieve their goals. UX and UI designs were given the up-most attention. We built a site that has the capability to allow users to book tours with a click with options to further customize their holidays. Unlike other holiday sites, we decided if we designed the site according to what the holiday makers want to do, instead of basing it around a particular location.

Research & Insights.

After careful feasibility study, market research and competitor analysis we determined the user interactions to be the prizing factor on the site’s success.

Following which we spent countless hours perfecting the UX and UI. Wire-framing was our best friend at this point. This helped us to determine the user behavior once they land on the site. A flowing navigational structure is what would make or break the site.

We decided to structure the site based around users rather than the holiday packages.

Keeping things to minimal, the homepage was designed by populating it with exclusive and popular packages. We wanted the site to standout within the saturated market, and a clean luxurious feel to the homepage was a must.

We decided it would be much useful if users could simply select what they wanted to do. We built a ‘holiday’ page where the user would simply select an activity or their companion and the site will filter through hundreds of packages and hotels only to show them the relevant ones.

We developed a module for customers to inquire and book holidays straight from the package and hotel page. A pop up window ensures the visitor never leaves the hotel page while booking.

To assist with a visitor’s decision making we have a “heart” level. Which shows how many people love the package. Instead of the standard star rating, a heart level makes things a little bit more engaging.

Additionally, the hotel pages also lists the services provided by that hotel or package. It helps the users a little bit that extra.
